Emotional Freedom Technique

I just spent this past Sunday with a beautiful group of people learning about Emotional freedom technique (EFT) with Al Rodee. When I first heard about this class I was hooked freedom sounds amazing to me yes I would love to know more!!!!!
EFT is a tool that is often referred to as psychological acupuncture without the needles.
This is a path to emotional and physical health!

All negative emotions are caused by a disturbance in the body's energy system. You can use this technique for many issues that people may suffer with : stress, depression, anxiety, addictions, low self esteem, anger, obesity.etc. "You can try it on everything"
This is a technique that helps you recognize that pains and habits are related to our emotions.
This was a wonderful class to help you heal yourself from physical pain or a particular habit.

We are though a basic recipe to go through the treatment that included a sequence of tapping points to stimulate the meridians of the body. We learned and shared during the class it was a very empowering.
Al is a wonderful teacher with many years experience with using the technique.

This is a wonderful modality that I will be including in my coaching as well as in my treatments as I become more experiences with this technique.

Resistance and observations

Today I planned on cleaning my space. You know the usual vacuuming, washing the floors, cleaning the bathroom etc. I really I didn't want to do it I hummed and hawed had another coffee finished a great book I've been reading. You know the usual procrastinations. I observe myself  turn into a 4 year old....I don't want to do this. Somebody should be doing this for me.....LOL. So then I got myself ready murphy oil in hand.

After 3 minutes in I am smiling and happy with the joy of cleanliness.  I start laughing to myself because I was feeling pure joy in the cleaning and yet I was so resistant. I then washed the floor and yes I was still happy WOW! What a transformation inside and out. Happy feelings and a clean house :AMAZING. In that moment I started asking myself what other things I am resisting in my life that in the moment I feel pure joy? Geez exercise maybe? Yes! Eating good clean wholesome food?...there's the four year old again :" I just want cookies and muffins and delicious bake goods."

So my demon is my inner four year old she wants control and I let her get away with a lot because sometimes I think I am the one thinking those things. I've never looked at it in a way that what I am thinking and feeling might just be coming from my irrational four year that isn't as educated about what is really truly good for me.
All this while cleaning a floor.

A couple of things I want to ask you:

Were in your life do find yourself resistant?

What or who is your demon?

Try to get to know your inner child:
Have a conversation with them if you open communication with your inner child this will help you understand what you are resistant about and why?

How old are they?

WHat are their fears?

Let them know that you will always take care of them and that you will always have an open communication with them.

Have a joyful day!

Aromatherapy!

I love using pure essential oils and aroma blends! I use them as a perfume and incorporate them in my daily routines. When I am cleaning the house, taking a bath or breathing in scent when I am feeling stressed or tired.

Essential oils are the life blood of the plant and they create a chemical change in your brain. Because aroma are connected to our memory we associate a lot of things with smell.
Aromas can change how we feel! Have you ever walked into a room and smelled something that brought you back to a moment in the past a person or event? The smell of birthday cake cooking for example you have good memories!

Everything you apply to your skin enters your blood stream in 30 seconds. That is why incorporating pure essential oils are so wonderful in your daily life. They are all anti-fungal and anti-bacteria and are widely used as preservatives in natural skin and body care products.
Here are some blends that I love and that I have been using a lot lately!

Ginger& lemongrass:

Both aroma's are top notes
This blend is spicy warm with a sweet lemony scent.  It a cheering aroma that is stimulating yet grounding. It gives a boost to the parasympathetic nervous system. It helps tone the body and is excellent for aching muscles, it helps eliminate lactic acid and stimulates circulation!

Lavender roman chamomile and marjoram:

These essential oils are all  middle note aroma's
This blend has a calming affect on the nervous system reliving anxiety stress and deeper psychological traumas. May give feeling of comfort in case of grief and loneliness excellent for hyper active minds.

Ylang ylang and jasmine:
This blend is a middle to top note aroma
It has a sweet and floral scent with heavy exotic notes

This blend is excellent for regulating adrenaline and helps relax the nervous system resulting in feelings of JOY!
Helps balance oil production and is great for dry sensitive skin!

Ylang ylang , black pepper and clove:

This blend has all the notes of aroma's
It is a sharp, spicy and penetrating blend

It is stimulating for the mind strengthens the nervous system and memory. Warms the heart when there is indifference. Helps lift depression.

Checking in with you physical body

(Where there is joy, and an expansion of consciousness, sympathy, and inner calmness, one will always experience a rising energy in the spine. The opposite of those states-sorrow, contractive awareness and feelings, and restlessness-are always accompanied by a descending energy in the spine. A persons' posture indicates any changes in the flow of energy, for when his energy is Up he sit straight, with his shoulders back, his chest high; he even tends more naturally to look upwards. But when his energy is "down" he slump foward his shoulders sag, he holds his chest in a thought there were a hollowness there and he tends to look downward. ) quote taken from The Essence of the Bhagavad Gita

When we observe the postures of people around us it speaks to us.
How are we showing up physically in our lives?
Are you body aware?
Were are you showing signs of tension, stress and fatigue in your body?

A great activity to try is to ask every body part what it is feeling and write down the response:

Feet how are you feeling today? : Sore, swollen like I am too grounded to the floor.
Hips how are you feeling?: really tight on the left side I want to be stretched and released.

Yoga is a wonderful way to get in touch with your body as well as any physical activity like swimming, using a trampoline, tai chi and dancing!
Ask your body how it's feeling today

Have a beautiful day!
